I just realised while writing this post that this spring is going to be my last spring I spend in Vienna, which makes me quite emotional.
Vienna is one of those cities with all four seasons and after almost four years living here, I can say that spring in Vienna is just something else.
As you can see, the city BLOOMS! In the beginning of April, I couldn’t stop myself from taking photos of every cherry blossom tree I pass by. Everyone is on a photo hunting trip through the city and there are plenty of hot spots for taking your obligatory blossom pic. The city park has a beautiful little corner with the most outstanding cherry trees; a huge magnolia tree is blooming just in front of the Votiv Church and there are little trees in almost every alley.
I recently discovered the beautiful Setagayapark (have a look on this little post for all the pics) and it is officially my fave spot for a good amount of a spring intake. I’ve never seen a huge cherry blossom that beautiful and strong and was extremely lucky to go there at the perfect time since a week later, all the flowers and blossoms were gone.
With April, Beach bar season starts and you can see groups and groups of teens and students sitting next to the Danube, playing some music, drinking and eating. Cocktail season starts and there are plenty of options to choose from. I love having a little drink at Motto am Fluss, next to the Danube or enjoying a beautiful view of the city at one of the rooftop bars. My favourites so far are LAMÉE and the 25 hours hotel.
The city glowing in that golden hour light is by far my favourite time of the day. Every corner gets magical and peaceful.
I hope you liked this little post about the beauty of Vienna during spring time. I’m planning to do a ice cream and Pizza favourites in Vienna kind of post very soon as they are two essentials for me during spring and summer, so stay tuned for that (I take both my pizza and ice cream game very, very seriously!).
Hope you had a great weekend so far!
