Everyone who knows me knows about my obsession with Harry Potter! I, as many of my Generation, grew up with the books and films. I remember reading the first book and watching the film when I was about 9 or 10 years old and about to transfer from primary school to middle school. I instantly fell in love with that world, read all the books which had been published that time and desperately waited for the new ones, wether book or film. I went to midnight book sales, listened to the audiobooks a thousand times, played all the video games and went to the cinema with my family for every single film. I watched the Deathly Hollows when I was 20 years old and will never forget the emotions I had when I left that cinema room.
When I got a bit older, I went to the Warner Brothers Studios in London, visited so many shooting locations in the UK and reread the books so many times I lost count. My brother and I created a tradition a few years ago by having a Harry Potter film Marathon every single year. We order a massive load of food and get our hands on sweets, cakes and candies, it is literally the cosiest thing to do! We started the Marathon in summer but now decided to move it to winter in our Christmas break as it is much more atmospheric! So our marathon is just around the corner and I’m beyond excited! I always wanted to do a HP tag and what better time for that then now, a week before Christmas and a couple of days before our film marathon! So here we are:
What is your favourite quote?
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” and “It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
What is your favourite character?
That’s a difficult one but I have to say Hermione!
What is your favourite film, what is your least favourite?
My favourite film is Prisoner of Azkaban. Even though it’s not my fave book, I feel like the film has the best cinematography and one of the best scores of the whole series. I really dislike The Goblet of Fire! In my opinion it doesn’t fit in with the vibes of the other films (in a negative way) and was so cringy!
What is your favourite book, what is your least favourite?
To choose one fave from the books is really hard but I’d say The chambers of secret or the Half Blood Prince. Least favourite would be Order of the Phoenix. But honestly I really love them all!
Which class in Hogwarts would you love to take?
I would love to take Charms or Care of Magical Creatures!
What is your least favourite character?
Ginny with out a doubt. I don’t particularly like book-Ginny but film-Ginny is a huge disappointment for me
Did you like the ending?
When I read the ending with an age of 19, I wasn’t happy at all. The older I get, the happier it makes me though. Harry and all the other characters go through trauma, lost and devastation but in the end they live by what Dumbledore tried to teach Harry from the beginning, which is love. So yeah, all is well!
Which house were you sorted into (Pottermore)?
Ravenclaw! I always guessed I’d be in Gryffindor but when I told my family and friends, nobody was surprised in the slightest by Ravenclaw.
What would your patronus be (Pottermore)?
My patronus is a Basset Hound!
What job would you like to have after graduating from Hogwarts?
I would definitely stay in Hogwarts and become a Professor.
Which deathly hollow would you choose?
The cloak of Invisibility, for sure!
What is the one thing you are scared of the most/ what would your boggart be?
I don’t know what my boggart would necessary look like but the thing I’m most scared of is loosing someone I love.
Who is your favourite villain?
Bellatrix Lestrange! Would love to learn more about her background and motives.
Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as Dumbledore?
Richard Harris! I feel like Gambons performance was to harsh and often really aggressive to what I’d except from Dumbledore.
Would love to know if anybody who’s reading has done a HP Tag so that I can check it out!
